Hi, my name is Karlien Kleine. I am a qualified teacher with a lot of experience teaching Dutch. Teaching Dutch to native speaking children as well as foreign students in several countries around the world. And recently I worked as a volunteer for ‘Taal aan Zee’ in Den Haag, teaching Dutch to refugees.  

For many years I have been an Expat myself. So, having lived in 5 different countries I know how hard it is to learn a new language and to get to know the culture and habits.

Because I have experienced first hand several difficulties and challenges I know the struggle expats and their families can face. Especially concerning the day-to-day situations. Even in well organized countries, like The Netherlands. 

Therefore apart from teaching Dutch I will also help you understand and get along with the Dutch culture and its habits. All in all this will help you in your everyday life. Going shopping and visiting places of interest. As well as reading notices and understanding written Dutch communication. Also being able to talk with your neighbors and colleagues. And above all really integrate into the Dutch society: to participate in Dutch sports and society clubs. And finally fully understand the news, Dutch jokes and current events through social media.
